We all get stuck at some point on some thing in our lives, right?

We develop a set of systems and routines that gets us to a place of achievement, and suddenly (or slowly-suddenly) the world has changed.  Our usual modes of operation don’t work anymore.  So what we do?  We try harder!  But that doesn’t work because the world has changed and we haven’t.  So we end up getting stuck — stuck in old habits, old ways of thinking and being and behaving.

I love getting people unstuck.

That’s what tomrauch.com is all about.  I’m not here to sell you anything.  I’m here to give you the tools, resources and insights to help you take your coaching and leadership skills to the next level, in service to your clients.  I want to help you fulfill your life’s purpose — creating a busy, thriving holistic practice — so your clients can achieve their life purpose by managing their own health on a holistic, preventative basis.

My approach is to offer how to’s and tutorials and templates that help you navigate your way through the often-times complicated world of business building.  You need to know something about web-based technologies and marketing; how to create a structured program that gets your clients predictable results; the coaching skills you must acquire to get them through behavioral changes that are many times daunting.

I also want to get you to think about your practice differently — get you to see it in a new light, with a fresh set of eyes. So often — myself included — we get stuck on an image of our practices that just isn’t real.

Finally, I want you to see yourself in a different light.  We also get stuck on a self-image, many times negative and inaccurate — that we need to be a certain way to do certain things.  I’d like to help you see yourself as strong and capable and fulfilled.  As Christopher Robin said to Winne-the-Pooh:

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

I work best with holistic practitioners who are just starting out on their own and/or those who have been in practice a couple of years, have met with some success, but are stuck in figuring out what to do next, to take their practice to the next level in service to their clients.

If that’s you, welcome to tomrauch.com, and let’s talk!

What others are saying about Tom:

“When coaching Tom asks tremendously insightful questions and helps you to focus on the underlying cause, rather than getting distracted by surface level issues. He pushes you forward in a supportive manner focusing on getting results and holding yourself accountable. If you are looking for a coach who will help you connect your values and your business, Tom is the coach for you.” — A.M.

“Tom has helped me think about how to connect with my clients and keep them on track, which is the most challenging part of working with my clients! But he makes it easy and fun to get them to become and stay accountable for their own health and wellness program”  – J.S.

“When I was promoted to Manager, I needed some guidance on how to effectively communicate with my boss who had a different style than my previous boss and was in a remote location.  Tom was there for me and helped coach me on how to be proactive and know what my boss was asking of me and how to give him the answers he wanted and needed and in a style that would get my point across.  To this day, I still use everything I learned from Tom and owe him much credit in my success.

On a personal level, I was 20 pounds overweight and had very negative thoughts on exercising based on my gym experiences 15 years ago. Tom encouraged me to go back to the gym just to try it out and to my amazement, I was very comfortable in the environment.  After sticking to a positive workout schedule and cutting back on some unnecessary treats, I was able to lose approximately 25 pounds and now associate the gym with a way to escape from the daily grind.  Thanks Tom!” — S.K.

One of the things that I really liked about your talk was the specificity of HOW to implement and execute your key points. To be blunt here…the core message that you presented is not unique…during the last several years I have heard a couple similar presentations..but I don’t recall anyone who has done a better job of demonstrating HOW to DO those things. — R.M.

I am a bond trader by profession and a large ball of stress by default. I begin work at 4:15 am on a trading floor in SF. Because “life gets in the way” I never get enough sleep, I don’t work out, and my food consumption is erratic at best. That all adds up to unwanted pounds, stressful relationships and a less-than-productive work environment.

I’ve known Tom for about six years. We served together as trustees for approximately the same amount of time. Our relationship developed outside of the board meetings because of his genuine interest in my well being.

Our conversations evolved into brilliant, albeit natural, coaching sessions. He helped guide my thoughts and energies into a place that made sense. We talked about how all of my ‘issues’ were interrelated. We spoke about how making the smallest adjustment to my thoughts about food would have a drastic impact. Never did he tell me that eating green algae for four days straight would be my salvation. The most effective discussions centered around the control that I have over most situations – that it is not what happens but my reaction to what happened.

As interesting (or maybe not) as that may be, the most important take-away is that in the years I have known Tom, I have grown to trust him. I have grown to appreciate the fact that he holds me accountable (that wasn’t always easy). I am so confident in where his heart is and his global intentions, that the trust has become implicit. Tom is so knowledgeable and conversant and simple in his approach, that listening to him alone is reassuring.

Thanks for all of your help Tom! — E.M.

P.S. – I actually like seaweed

Tom Rauch is where coaching, leadership and emotional intelligence intersect. Life is not about finding the right answers, but about asking the right questions. And Tom has a skillful way of asking you the right questions to bring you closer to your true potential.

With each meeting engagement, he enables me to move one step closer to my true dream and passion. His energy, support and guidance allow me to take action immediately after meeting. – K.S.

“Tom’s work as a program development director, leader and educational coach have reflected his exceptional skills as a visionary and a catalyst for change. His professionalism and communication skills are some of the best I’ve ever seen. If an individual or an organization is experiencing a ‘fog bank’ of sorts, Tom is able to clear the fog, create clarity of direction, and institute movement for desired change with enlightening ease. This rare gift makes Tom a pleasure to work with and the kind of individual who is worth acquiring guidance from via professional and/or personal matters.” — K.D.
